Shooting Monday Morning Could Be Linked to Another

Charleston police think a shooting Monday morning could be connected to an ongoing homicide investigation. 30-year old David Evans was shot in the leg just after midnight Monday on Charleston’s West Side, in the 900 block of 6th Street, after leaving a gas station on Washington Street West. Evans and a friend were walking home when they heard shots, and they ran even though Evans had been shot. He is expected to be okay. Investigators think the shooting is related to a homicide case April 6th. Ronald Seawright Jr. was killed on Maryland Ave. in Charleston and Gerard Spencer will be charged with first-degree murder once he’s found. Police think Spencer may have left the state and could possibly be in New York. Anyone with tips should contact CPD at 304-348-8111.
