WV Native to Become American Medical Association President

A Bluefield native is becoming president of a national organization. Dr. Patrice Harris went to medical school at West Virginia University and completed part of her education at Charleston Area Medical Center where she got into the phsychiatry field. In June, Harris will become president of the American Medical Association and she’ll be the first African American woman to hold that title. WCHS TV reported one of her top priorities will be addressing the nation’s opioid epidemic.
