State School Superintendent Gets Pay Increase

West Virginia’s state school superintendent is getting a pay raise. The West Virginia Department Education said in a tweet that state school board members voted to give Steve Paine a $4,140 pay hike – the amount equivalent to what teachers in West Virginia received the past two years. Paine took the job as state superintendent in March 2017 at an annual salary of $230,000. He previously served as state school superintendent from 2005 to 2011.
