Hurricane residents voted overwhelmingly in favor of a continuation levy Saturday. More than 200 people voted in support of funding for paving projects and police programs. The levy was first introduced more than 70 years ago and provides the city with more than $400,000 annually. Hurricane Mayor Scott Edwards said the levy does not increase taxes.
WCHS TV reported seventeen people voted against the levy.
