New Law Introduced in Late Football Player’s Memory

A bill introduced in the West Virginia Legislature is designed to honor Alex Miller, the Roane County high school football player who died during a football game. The law would require an automated external defibrillator device be present at all high school or middle school athletic events, and that all school sports personnel be trained to use it. Miller collapsed suddenly and died during a 2019 football game between Roane County High School and Clay County High School.
