FEMA Funds to Help With Coonskin Park Flood Recovery

Kanawha County Commissioners are setting aside nearly $800,000 for repairs caused by flooding nearly four years ago at Coonskin Park. The floods in June 2016 damaged about 1,900 feet of the riverbank of the Elk River and Kanawha County Commissioners have worked with FEMA on funding for repairs. The money will go toward stabilizing the riverbank and repairing park roads.
