COVID-19 is Major Concern at West Virginia Nursing Homes

A West Virginia nursing home with at least 20 coronavirus cases has become the epicenter for the state’s growing caseload. Sundale’s medical director Carl Shrader says the nursing home in Morgantown has 16 residents and four staffers testing positive as of Wednesday morning, with 50 other tests still pending. State health officials said West Virginia’s cases nearly doubled Tuesday to at least 39, most of them in Monongalia County where the nursing home is located. Health crews are also testing residents at Brookdale Charleston Gardens in Charleston after one resident tested positive for the coronavirus.
