Volunteer Fire Department is Allowed to Operate Again

The Chesapeake Volunteer Fire Department in Kanawha County is again allowed to respond to emergency calls after being shut down nearly a month ago by the West Virginia state fire marshal due to deficiencies. A re-evaluation of the department showed the deficiencies had been corrected to fire engines and tankers, including one tanker that had no medical kit. There was also a large piece missing out of a tire making it unsafe for the road, no siren and no low beam headlights.
