Kanawha County Remains Red on Newest Map

Four counties remained red Saturday in the West Virginia Department of Education’s weekly school re-entry map. Kanawha, Putnam, Fayette and Mingo counties moved to red midweek and remained there in the state’s 5 p.m. update, meaning in-person instruction will be suspended along with extra-curricular activities. Monongalia County, which was red for several weeks, moved to orange in the weekly map, joining Boone as the only orange counties in the state. Boone County was previously gold. Orange counties also have to suspend in-person instruction, but limited extra-curricular activities are allowed.
