Flooding is a Concern Through the First Part of the Week

High water remains a concern today. As flash flooding in some areas subsides, meteorologists say the runoff from smaller stem streams and creeks will flow into the larger rivers. The delayed reaction time could mean that flash floods pop up in other areas over the next day or two. The Ohio River could take 2 to 3 days to drop below the flood stage depending on location. Flooding was reported Monday on WV 2 at Oak Hill Road in Cabell County. Mayor Scott Edwards said in Hurricane, a man had to be rescued on Peach Ridge Road after he attempted to drive through high water. The reservoir by City Park also overflowed onto Teays Valley Road.
