Kanawha County deputies said a man was charged after spike strips flattened a tire on the van he was fleeing in and a K-9 tracked down the suspect hiding in a pile of leaves and brush. Richard Walker of Charleston was taken into custody Wednesday morning after a routine patrol by a deputy in Loudendale turned into a pursuit. The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office said after fleeing, Walker was tracked by an officer and a K-9 Brix of the sheriff’s office. He is currently being held in the South Central Regional Jail.
