Huntington Fire Chief takes the stand in opioid trial

Huntington Fire Chief Jan Rader took the stand in the opioid civil trial at the Byrd Federal Courthouse. She testified that at the height of the opioid epidemic in 2017 firefighters were seeing an average of five overdose deaths a month. Huntington and Cabell County are suing the “Big 3” drug distributors for sending one-hundred-million pills into the area over a ten-year period, fueling the epidemic.
