Mural Artists Are Being Sought for a Public Project in Charleston

The City of Charleston’s Office of Public Art invites community members to participate in the prepping, priming, and painting of the mural project at 517 Elizabeth Street. The mural is a joint effort by West Virginia native and muralist Zulu Painter, the Charleston Urban Renewal Authority (CURA), the City of Charleston’s Office of Public Art, and the YWCA. It is the first in a series of community mural projects on the East End and West Side of Charleston. If you’d like to help with the mural project you can sign up on the City of Charleston’s website or by calling: 304.720.7054. Volunteers will work in smalls teams that will be divided into shifts.
