The Gazette-Mail Kanawha County Majorette and Band Festival was canceled last year but it will return this year to University of Charleston Stadium at Laidley Field. All eight high school bands are expected to participate in the event that is scheduled to begin 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28. Organizers said Marshall University’s Marching Thunder will perform too. Proceeds from the band festival help fund the county’s band programs.
