WV will spend $1 billion to expand broadband

West Virginia will use one-billion-dollars in state and federal funding to expand broadband to around two-hundred-thousand homes and businesses. Governor Justice says, “It’s like nothing that we’ve ever done before.” More than seven-hundred-million-dollars is expected to be allocated by the fall of 2022. State Economic Development Secretary Mitch Carmichael says the focus of the program is to serve those who do not have internet service.
