Active Shooting Training Will Draw Police Presence Starting Sunday

There will be a large law enforcement and emergency personnel presence in the coming days at the Kanawha County Judicial Annex and Sissonville High School, but don’t be alarmed. Active shooter training will be taking place at both locations. The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office said the training will take place from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, at the Kanawha County Judicial Annex, 111 Court St. in Charleston. Sgt. Ana Pile, spokesperson for the sheriff’s office, said the training will continue noon to 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, through Friday, Aug. 12, at Sissonville High School. During the training sessions, there will be a large police presence, including emergency vehicles and personnel from local fire departments, emergency medical services and Metro Communications.
