Kanawha County isn’t the only county to be denied FEMA funds to help with flood recovery after the August floods.Governor Jim Justice’s office said Doddridge, Jackson, Mingo and Wyoming Counties were all turned down for the federal help. Kanawha County was denied assistance last week because FEMA officials said the damage was not severe enough to qualify for assistance. The state has thirty days to appeal the decision. Fayette and McDowell counties were approved.
