Over 30 doctors certified to prescribe medical marijuana

DHHR says there are over thirty doctors certified to prescribe medical marijuana in West Virginia. Online registration for medical cannabis opened up this week, but before you can register you must first be seen by a physician. Each doctor must complete a four hour training course to become certified.

Complaint filed in officer-involved shooting death

The family of a man who was shot and killed by a Roan County Sheriff’s Deputy in October 2020, is filing a complaint against the Roane County Commission and Sheriff Todd Cole. The lawsuit claims the officer did not receive proper training or supervision.

City council wants feedback on needle exchange program

The Charleston Public Safety Committee is hoping to get feedback on needle exchange programs from first responders and city workers. The committee wants input from public workers before the full city council takes action on pending changes to the city ordinance on needle distribution.
