Charges are pending after an altercation at St. Albans basketball game

St. Albans Police are investigating after a female student from St. Albans High School was allegedly hit in the face on Tuesday night by a man from the crowd. The incident happened after the boys basketball game against Ripley. Police tell Eyewitness News that a man in a video that has been circulating social media has been identified and charges are pending. Capt. Philip Bass said that the game itself was nothing out of the ordinary and players weren’t overly aggressive during the game. Bass said the altercation was a mix of adults and students from both sides pushing and yelling after the game. A video was later shared with police and charges are pending against the man believed to have hit her.
