Charleston woman pleads guilty to COVID relief fraud

A Charleston woman is pleading guilty to defrauding the government out of more than 20-thousand-dollars in COVID relief funds. She’s accused of applying for relief loans for a hair salon that was not a legitimate business and she admitted to submitting a false IRS form claiming that business made over one-hundred-thousand-dollars in 2020. She faces up to twenty-years in prison and a 250-thousand-dollar fine.
