City of Charleston Announces Street Closures for Outdoor Dining

Outdoor dining will be making its return to Capitol and Hale streets in Charleston, food truck Wednesdays will be offered at Slack Plaza and Kanawha Boulevard will be closed on Sundays for recreation. Charleston Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin said this week that the blocks of Capitol and Hale will close to allow for outdoor dining from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Virginia and Quarrier streets will remain open. For outdoor dining Memorial Day weekend, Capitol Street from Kanawha Boulevard to Lee Street will close 3 p.m. Friday, May 27, through 10 p.m. Monday, May 30. Hale Street, from Quarrier to Lee streets, will be closed from 3 p.m. Friday to 11 p.m. Saturday. Food Truck Wednesday will start June 1 and be observed every Wednesday through Aug. 31. Music and food will be offered from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
