Fayette County Couple Admits To Using Heroin Before Committing Crime

Two Fayette County residents are facing prison time after stealing a vehicle and setting it on fire. Steven Davis of Fayetteville and Rebecca Maichle of Victor have been sentenced to three years in prison, according to a news release from the Fayette County Office of the Prosecuting Attorney. Police say they responded to call from a Mount Hope residence to investigate a stolen vehicle in June 2020. A short time later a vehicle fire was reported nearby in Beckwith. Witnesses reported that a male and female had fled the scene on a moped. Officers documented both individuals having singed hair and minor burns when apprehended. Police say the duo admitted to using heroin prior to committing the crimes.
