Gov. Justice Resumes Daily Briefings After Quarantine

Gov. Jim Justice gave his first public briefing on Monday after recovering from coronavirus, and said “for the first couple days, it was really nasty stuff.” The governor’s positive test on Jan. 11 forced him to miss his in-person State of the State address the next day and several major economic development news conferences. The governor said an initial rapid test came back negative, and several hours later a PCR test came back positive. Justice encourages the vaccine, but reiterated Monday that he believes getting vaccinated is a personal choice, and he doesn’t believe in any mandates.
