The state House of Delegates is considering legislation to bolster oversight of the West Virginia foster care system. A bill to strengthen the role of the ombudsman position passed in committee. It would extend the ombudsman’s reach, empowering the position to receive, investigate and resolve abuse and neglect allegations in the foster care system.
