Saying the fight against the pandemic is not over in Kanawha County, county commissioners have sent letters to West Virginia’s two U.S. senators asking them to support a bill funding more COVID-19 treatment, vaccines and testing. WCHS TV said the sltters were sent to U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito and U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin requesting their backing for a stand-alone Senate bill that would provide $10.6 billion for the effort across the nation. The letter details the need for funding to support the monoclonal antibody clinic at the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department by providing the antibody therapy treatments, the continuation of offering testing supplies at no charge to all who need a test, including those who are uninsured, and providing funding for the continuation of vaccines.
