Maryland Woman Faces Charges for a Huntington Knife Incident

A woman was charged Sunday after she was accused of cutting another woman with a knife during an argument in Huntington. 43-year old Kelly Smith of Elkton, Maryland, is charged with malicious assault and attempt to commit a felony, according to the Huntington Police Department. Police said Smith was at a home in the 2100 block of 11th Avenue when she was asked to leave, which led to a physical altercation with two other women. During the fight, Smith is accused of picking up a kitchen knife and swinging it at both of the women, cutting one of them. The woman was treated for non-life-threatening injuries on scene by EMS crews.
