Justice says Greenbrier’s finances are healthy

After dueling financial lawsuits were filed this week, Governor Justice says finances for the Greenbrier hotel are stable. He says Bluestone Resources, the umbrella company for his family’s coal holdings, and the Greenbrier are both extremely healthy and doing well.

Gov. Justice calling for Special Session

Governor Justice is calling for a special session to appropriate money the state has already received from the federal government for DHHR and the Department of Education. It’s set for Monday during the legislatures regularly scheduled interim meeting.

Kroger opening new store next week

Say goodbye to the old Kroger, and hello to the new Kroger. The supermarkets new store on Great Teays Boulevard will open this coming Wednesday. The new 94-thousand-square-foot facility will include a specialty cheese shop, Starbucks, and wide variety of meals to go.

Active COVID-19 cases continue to fall

The number of recovered COVID-19 patients is outpacing the number of new cases. There are just over four-thousand active cases of the virus in West Virginia. Almost sixty-percent of state residents twelve and older are fully vaccinated.

Kentucky State Police are looking for a missing Prestonburg woman. Thirty-six-year-old Kandi Gonzalez was last seen on Tuesday in the area of Abbott Creek Road. She is a white female, five-eight, one-hundred-ten-pounds. She has blonde hair and blue eyes. Call police if you have any information.

Women facing child abuse charges

Two Fayetteville women are facing child abuse charges. Thirty-three-year-old Samantha McKinney is charged with child abuse resulting in injury, and Fifty-one-year-old Jennifer Murphy is charged with child neglect for witnessing the abuse and failing to stop it.
