COVID-19 hospitalizations at a record high

COVID-19 hospitalizations are at a record high in West Virginia. More than seven-hundred people are in the hospital, and almost two-hundred are in the ICU. There are over one-thousand new cases of the virus, and ten additional deaths.

Gov. Justice get COVID-19 vaccination

Governor Justice is one of the country’s first elected officials to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Pfizer’s vaccine arrived on Monday at the two hub locations in Kanawha and Monongalia counties. More than one-hundred Thomas Health workers will get the vaccine this week.

16-year-old charged with murder

A sixteen-year-old boy is charged with killing four of his family members. Thirty-seven-year-old Daniel Long, thirty-nine-year-old Risa Mae Saunders and their three and twelve-year-old sons were found dead at a home in Pinch Sunday morning.

Suspect wanted in child care center break-in

Police are looking for a man who broke into Cross Lanes Child Care two different times. Surveillance video shows the man entering through the back door and stealing things inside. The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office posted pictures of the man on their Facebook page.

Winter weather arrives on Wednesday

A Nor’easter is heading for the east coast, and will bring with it heavy mixed precipitation. A Winter Storm Watch is in effect from Wednesday morning through early Thursday morning. We could see an inch of snow and ice, and the mountains could get up to six-inches of snow.

Home Confinement Office Is Closed After Employee Tests Positive

An employee with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Home Confinement Office has tested positive for COVID-19, and the office was closed as a precaution. Metro 911 Deals With Positive COVID Cases

Three Metro 911 employees have tested positive for COVID-19 so far this week. The agency said Monday that the 911 system will not be affected by the positive tests. Phones will still be answered, and precautionary measures are being taken.
