Family, friends, and dozens of Charleston police officers gathered to remember fallen officer Cassie Jonson. It’s been a year since Johnson was killed in the line of duty. Police Chief Tyke Hunt says a day has not gone by where he’s not thought of Johnson. During the ceremony, Hunt and Johnson’s mother placed a wreath at the memorial at Pennsylvania Avenue and Washington Street. The man charged in Johnson’s death, Joshua Phillips, is set to go on trial January 10th in Kanawha County Circuit Court.
