Senate Finance committe questions use of COIVD funds for baseball stadium

The West Virginia Senate Finance Committee is questioning Governor Justice’s use of CARES Act funding for the construction of Marshall University’s new baseball stadium. The money in question came from the Governor’s Gifts, Grants and Donations Fund. Administration officials say the state faced a deadline to spend 28-million-dollars in federal funding, and it was simplest to move it into the Governor’s Fund and reallocate it from there.
