The First State Bank in Barboursville has closed. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation said The First State Bank closed Friday because capital levels were too low under federal and state law. The FDIC said all four branches of The First State Bank will reopen as branches of the Fairmont-based MVB Bank and those customers will automatically become depositors of MVB Bank.
