West Virginia is Among the Least Expensive Places for Renters

New data from the National Low Income Housing Coalition shows West Virginia is one of the least expensive places to rent an apartment. A two-bedroom apartment will rent for $800, and an average household would need to earn about $32,000 per year to afford it. That’s an average number for West Virginia, and some cities have higher housing costs. Rent in Morgantown, Jefferson County, Martinsburgh, and Putnam County is above the state average, and Winchester is the most expesive city for renters.
