West Virginia to Receive $161 Million Drug Settlement

A more than $161.5 million settlement has been reached with two drug manufacturers that remained in an opioid trial that has been underway in Charleston.
West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey announced the settlement with drug manufacturers Teva and Allergan. The news release said Teva, as part of the settlement, will also supply West Virginia with $27 million worth of Narcan over the course of 10 years. Part of the settlement also states that if national agreements come in higher than West Virginia’s amount, then the state is guaranteed to get 2.25% of that settlement, which could end up being higher.
