Marshall University unveils plans for Hal Greer statue

Marshall University announced plans for a statue to honor Huntington basketball legend Hal Greer. The design will be unveiled tonight at halftime of Marshall’s game against Western Kentucky. Greer was a trailblazer on the court and in the community. He was the first African-American to receive an athletic scholarship at Marshall, and went on to a successful career in the NBA. Hal Greer died in April at the age of 81.
