Medical marijuana might be available by July

Medical marijuana may be available in West Virginia in July, but banks are declining to accept any of the money from pot sales for fears that it would violate federal drug and banking laws. Attorney General Patrick Morrisey says that is a possibility, but it’s unlikely there would be any prosecutions. Some lawmakers believe letting the state create its own bank, or using a state-charted credit union might be the answer for financial transactions. Medical cannabis was passed by the legislature two years ago.
