A new app aims to help some WIC participants. Those in West Virginia’s Women, Infants and Children program will soon be able to receive free breastfeeding support 24 hours a day. Pacify is an app that’s launching to provide access to certified lactation consultants to address questions and concerns about breastfeeding. Breastfeeding rates in West Virginia are below the national average and officials believe increased support may be one way to help more West Virginia mothers and babies breastfeed, and to do so longer.
