Kanawha County deputies said three men face charges in an investigation of seven break-ins at cell tower sites in Cabin Creek that cost cell phone companies thousands of dollars. 22-year old James Canfield, 28-year old Jeremy Powers, and 30-year old Johnnie Boggess III of Miami face charges after the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office said a cell tower in Giles Hollow was broken into Jan. 13 and Jan. 14 this year and Nov. 26, 2019. The break-ins cost one cell phone company more than $45,000 just to replace the cabling. Three different phone companies use the tower, and the others are still calculating damages. A tower site in Sharon was hit Aug. 19, Sept. 18, Nov. 12, and Dec. 9, 2019 costing an estimated $9,000. There are other suspects till being sought, and nyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff’s office.
