The Hershel Woody Williams VA Medical Center is taking part in the national salute to veterans this week. The salute started Sunday with several volunteers stopping by to serve food, give out gift bags and show their appreciation for veterans. The weeklong salute is part of an effort to help raise awareness for volunteerism, and to recognize veteran patients. The salute ends next Monday.
