A former Charleston city councilman who recited the phrase, “It’s almost 10 p.m. Do you know what your children are doing?” in a public service announcement, has died. 80-year old John Henry Miller Jr. of Charleston died Sunday, Feb. 2. Miller was a magistrate in Charleston, worked for the West Virginia Division of Highways and was an instructor at Upward Bound and St. Albans High School for more than 30 years. Miller also was a city councilman and member of the Kanawha Valley Regional Transportation Authority board. Visitation for Miller will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cunningham, Parker, Johnson Funeral Home in Charleston. Cremation will follow.
