City of Charleston Limits Access to Facilities

Access to Charleston city offices, public facilities and community recreation centers will be limited to the public in an effort slow the spread of the coronavirus. The action includes public access to City Hall, offices and common areas within the City Service Center, all fire stations, Municipal Auditorium and the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center, according to a news release from the city and the Kanawha County Commission. Officials said the directive does not limit public access to city-owned parking garages or city-owned shelter facilities such as the YWCA Sojourner’s Shelter or the Roark-Sullivan Lifeway Center. The access limitation will last through March 30th.
