The Clay Center, which had already halted major events for 30 days, is closing all museum galleries. Clay Center officials said they will provide frequent updates on the status on the center’s social media platforms. Last week, the Clay Center announced it was canceling all events with an audience of more than 250 for the next 30 days. Charleston officials also announced last week that similar actions were being taken for the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center and the Municipal Auditorium. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently announced that it is recommending that groups be limited to no more than 50 people for the next eight weeks.
