Kanawha County Schools have a Coronavirus policy just in case. There have been no confirmed cases, but district officials have a written policy now that would be put in place if a student or employee has a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19. That school or office building would be closed for up to three days for a thorough cleaning and all extra-curricular activities for the affected school also would be canceled. A student or employee who is diagnosed with COVID-19 would have to stay home for the recommended 14-day period that they are considered to be contagious.
