The Kanawha County Solid Waste Authority announced Sunday night it will be closed, effective immediately. The closure is a result of the growing coronavirus pandemic and was made for the protection of employees, according to a news release. The Solid Waste Authority is the central resource for waste reduction in the county through recycling. The closure only affects recycling in the county.
