Voting Appis Scrapped Over Security Issues

West Virginia is opting not to use a widely criticized voting app in the state’s coming primary elections after a blistering report found potential security flaws in the platform. An MIT analysis of the Voatz app made officials reconsider and opt instead to use a different system for the May elections. Voatz has mostly been used for absentee ballots from overseas military personnel, and had vulnerabilities that could allow hackers to change a person’s vote without detection.
