West Virginia State University held a memorial and wreath-laying ceremony for alum and pioneering NASA mathematician Katherine Johnson. She was best known for her work with NASA, and was featured in the movie “Hidden Figures.” The Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient passed away last month at the age of 101.
