Investigators Look Into Vandalism Case at Former Mayor’s Restaurant

Charleston police are investigating after someone threw a brick through a window ad Danny’s BBQ Stand on Quarrier Street. That’s the restaurant owned by former capital city mayor Danny Jones, who retired from public office last year after serving four terms as the city’s mayor. Charleston police said nothing was stolen, and it was a case of vandalism. Danny’s BBQ Stand opened in February. Jones has also owned several restaurants in the past, including Number 8 Capitol Street and Danny’s Rib House in Nitro.
