The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office said a man died this week from injuries he received during a towing incident. 23-year old Joey Slater Jr. of Cross Lanes died after he was seriously injured Tuesday on Childress Road in Alum Creek. Sgt. Brian Humphreys said he was riding on top of a car that was being towed by another vehicle and apparently fell between the vehicles. Humphreys said the cars were connected with a piece of wire. The wire broke, sending the car that was being towed off the road and that car ended up on top of the victim.
