The first grants have been awarded from a COVID-19 Community Response and Recovery Fund to help nonprofit agencies. United Way of Central West Virginia announced that a total of $26,000 was awarded to agencies including Kanawha Valley Senior Services, WV Health Right, The Salvation Army, Manna Meal, Heart + Hand Outreach Ministries, and YWCA of Charleston, WV Sojourner’s Shelter. Nonprofits can apply online at www.unitedwaycwv.org. Donations are accepted too.
