Kanawha County Schools is closing all of its recreational areas on its properties after reports of groups congregating. Kanawha County Schools Communications Director Briana Warner said this includes, but is not limited to, all outdoor facilities including playgrounds, basketball courts, tracks, fields and tennis courts. Warner said the health department informed the district Monday of multiple complaints about groups of children and students together at school recreational facilities, and made the decision for everyone’s safety.
