Some local meat shops announced they are temporarily closing because of the meat shortage. Johnnie’s Fresh Meat Market at Capitol Market in Charleston, announced on Facebook Tuesday evening that its doors will be closed May 15 through May 20. It plans to have a curbside service to start May 21. T&M Meats in Cross Lanes said in a post May 5 its business will be closed until further notice. Stores are hoping to regain their stock of meat products as soon as possible. Processors plan to reopen to help restore the supply.
